Personal Gear

This section covers the items that guests and crew should bring along on a sailing trip. Note, it is up to the captain to make sure that each person on board has adequate safety gear for the conditions that are going to be encountered.

Checklists are included in this section for daysailing, coastal and ICW travel, and offshore passagemaking.

  Harness (may be integrated into PFD) and 6' safety tether.  
 
Knife with blunt tip and 1/2 serrated edge 1/2 straight edge  
 
LED headlamp (esp. Princeton Tech brand "EOS" model) with fresh batteries  
  PFD (if not provided by the captain) with attached whistle and strobe
